Franklin Electric, a manufacturer of the Little Giant automatic pool cover brand and related products, has released the Little Giant Pool Cover Pump APCP-1700-40, which boasts a 40-foot power cord. Standing water on pool covers can potentially damage the cover, which is why a pump can be necessary to remove it. The long power cord, which the company claims is 15 feet longer than typical pumps, makes it easier and safer to use, since extension cords are no longer needed around the pool.
