In an industry where every trip counts and every customer expects instant solutions, getting a bird’s eye view of how a pool is operating before you pack the truck can make all the difference. Remote monitoring is transforming how pool pros manage their routes, diagnose issues, and deliver exceptional service… often before even stepping foot on-site! With Pentair’s IntelliCenter® Pool Control System and the online dashboard just for pool pros, professionals can now see the full picture: what’s running, what’s not, and what needs attention. It’s more than convenience. It’s a smarter, faster way to care for your customers’ pools.

To break down how it works and what makes this technology such a powerful ally for service techs, we spoke with Israel Saari, Category Manager – Digital Solutions at Pentair Pool, about remote monitoring, administrator access, and why this tool is becoming essential for today’s pros.

Question: What is remote monitoring? If I have a pool owner add me as an administrator, will I still be able to monitor their system if they change the password later?

Saari: Remote monitoring lets you see and control a customer’s IntelliCenter pool setup from your phone or computer before you roll the truck. It’s all about “know before you go” so you can show up prepared or even fix simple issues remotely. Here are a few things you can see and adjust in the web interface, the industry’s first comprehensive remote monitoring dashboard:

  • Equipment status: What’s running (pumps, heaters, lights, water features) and what’s not
  • Errors and alerts: Notifications when something’s wrong
  • Temperatures: Pool and spa temps and heater set points
  • Pump details: Speeds, flow rates, pump addressing, and circuit assignments
  • Lighting: Which lights are on the system and whether they’re on or off
  • Chemistry (if IntelliChem® Water Chemistry Controller is installed): pH and ORP readings for water balance
  • Shortcut to control: From the dashboard, jump straight into that system to make quick adjustments without hunting around

Pentair provides this web dashboard to show all your customers’ systems in one view, so you don’t have to log into each system to know what’s happening.

You can have the homeowner add you as Administrator in the Pentair Pool app (Menu → Settings → Manage Users). Then, log in at pro.pentairpool.com to see their system on your dashboard. If the homeowner changes their password later, your admin access stays unless they remove you from their Manage Users list.

Question: How many lights can I connect to the IntelliVibe™ Pool Lighting System controller?

Saari: It depends on the lights you use. The controller has four outputs, and the total power can’t exceed 200 watts (maximum 100 watts per output). Bigger-watt lights mean fewer per controller; smaller-watt lights mean more. If you need more than that, you can always add another controller.
