CMAHC Announces Leadership Transition as Organization Advances Path to Sustainability

The Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code announced executive director Kristie Riester will step down following the fulfillment of her contract and board president Kevin Post will serve as interim executive director.
“Kristie has been instrumental in advancing CMAHC’s mission,” Post says. “She successfully guided two update cycles of the Model Aquatic Health Code, supported the board in strengthening partnerships with the aquatics community and most recently traveled to the Mariana Islands to champion the MAHC in collaboration with NEHA, helping to spread best practices internationally. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and dedication to aquatic health and safety.”
CMAHC recently launched Ripples of Hope, a bridge-funding campaign designed to sustain the organization’s role in stewarding the health code as federal funding shifts. The initiative invites support from individuals, small organizations and industry partners to ensure the continuation of lifesaving public health guidance and research.
Looking ahead, CMAHC will open applications for a newly created role, director of business development and fundraising, to help secure the long-term stability of the organization and further its mission to promote safe and healthy swimming environments.
