Pool Horizons Summit

The Pool Horizons Summit Barcelona 2025 will gather global industry leaders, innovators and educators on Nov. 17 to discuss the role of swimming pools as spaces that promote health, inclusion and community. The event will be held as part of the Piscina Barcelona trade fair.

Created in 2023, Pool Horizons is an international initiative that emphasizes the social, educational and cultural value of water and aquatic spaces.

Speakers Emily McNeill of the International Swim Schools Association; Cyrena Yong, founder of D Swim Academy in Malaysia; and Jerome Pedretti, executive vice president and CEO of Pool at Pentair will explore how swimming education is becoming recognized as a basic right across Asia. Patricia Abreu, commercial director of the Mexican Swimming Pool Professionals Association, and Jaime Ramírez, CEO of Fluidra, will discuss Mexico’s diving tradition as a symbol of cultural connection between people and water.

The event will also provide updates on the inaugural Pool Horizons projects, which include Nager à Paris in France, Survival Swimming Centres in South Africa, +POOL in New York and POOL, an art and history exhibition centered on water’s role in our lives.

Agustí Ferrer, managing director of ASOFAP, and Sabeena Hickman, president and CEO of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, will speak on the importance of collaboration in advancing a more human-centered pool industry. The forum will open with a welcome from Eloi Planes, executive chairman of Fluidra and president of Piscina Barcelona, and close with remarks from Kevin Holleran, president and CEO of Hayward Holdings, Inc.

The Pool Horizons Summit will conclude with a networking session.
