SunnyWhale to Launch FinWhale Smart Chlorine Dispenser 

SunnyWhale announced plans to launch the FinWhale Smart Chlorine Dispenser in summer 2026, introducing a solar-powered floating device designed to automate chlorine management and water monitoring for residential pools.

The solar-powered FinWhale combines water sensing and chlorine dispensing in a familiar floating format. According to the company, the unit uses a 3-in-1 electrochemical sensor to continuously monitor free chlorine, pH, ORP and water temperature every 20 minutes, automatically adjusting chlorine output to help maintain balanced water conditions. Unlike reagent-based testing systems that analyze periodic water samples, the sensor provides continuous monitoring and automated responses to changing water chemistry.

The dispenser connects to a mobile app that provides live water readings, alerts and historical performance data. In addition to its integrated solar panels, the unit includes a backup charging option designed to maintain operation during extended periods of cloud cover or in heavily shaded pools.

SunnyWhale says the product is intended to help homeowners reduce manual testing and chemical adjustments while also supporting pool service professionals by maintaining more consistent sanitizer levels between service visits. The system includes weather-responsive dosing logic designed to adjust chlorine output during periods of high UV exposure or rainfall.
