For Trese Huss, the pool industry is family history. Her father founded Pool Care Specialists in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, in 1984, and by 2005 she was working alongside him. Over the years, she held nearly every job in the business, from riding along with service crews and working in the retail store to overseeing scheduling, billing and operations as service manager. That experience gave her a 360-degree view of how the industry works and the confidence to build her path forward.

Kyle Erwin’s career in the pool industry began while in college, building pools for his family’s company, Hawaiian Pools and Landscape, in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduation, he transitioned into retail management and sales with the same company. A brief detour into the insurance world didn’t last long — Erwin found his way back to aquatics with Zodiac Pool Systems (now Fluidra), serving as a territory sales manager in the Atlanta market. Seven years ago, he joined United Aqua Group, where he now serves as vice president of sales.

Her career began at One Stop Pool and Spa Store in Plano, Texas, where she steadily advanced over 15 years to become general manager. That tenure gave her not only a knowledge of products and customer service but also the confidence to take on greater challenges.

After gaining experience at Joe Lucia Pools and Al White Pools, he launched his own company, Master Touch Outdoor Living. Building his business allowed him to put his early experience in pool operations, customer service and jobsite coordination into practice.

Brian Menzies can trace his pool career all the way back to age 10, when he helped a family friend distribute flyers in exchange for chicken salad sandwiches. By high school, he was working at a Pinch A Penny store for $6.55 an hour, filling bleach jugs alongside his best friend.

For Andrew Kroncke, what started as a college summer job on the factory floor at Midwest Canvas grew into a full-fledged career. His first tasks were making solar covers, boxing products and loading trucks. Over the years, his responsibilities expanded to include managing production facilities, purchasing raw materials and overseeing trucking. That wide-ranging exposure taught him how to navigate nearly every aspect of the business.
