MRT Forms Commercial Innovation Organization, Announces Leadership Changes
Modern Recreational Technologies has formed a new Commercial Innovation organization aimed at connecting customer feedback more directly with product development, marketing and digital commerce.
MRT develops and manufactures coatings and other products for marine, aquatics and recreational applications. Its aquatics portfolio includes the Ramuc brand of pool and deck coatings, along with other brands such as Tuff Coat, Pettit, Woolsey and ValvTect.
The new Commercial Innovation group will bring together customer insights with research, development and innovation, product management, marketing and digital commerce. The structure is intended to help the company identify market needs, prioritize product development and make product information and purchasing more accessible to customers, according to MRT.
Tom Maellaro has been promoted to vice president of commercial innovation and will lead the new organization across MRTโs Aquatics & Parks and Marine & Fuel businesses. Krystal Totherow has been promoted to director of e-commerce, with responsibility for expanding the companyโs digital commerce capabilities.
Among several additional leadership changes, Kevin Milwood has been promoted to Aquatics & Parks property management specialist. He will work with property owners, operators and other stakeholders in the aquatics, hospitality and multifamily markets to identify products and solutions for maintaining and extending the life of facilities.
