Nidec Expands TITAN Motor Line
Nidec U.S. MOTORS has expanded its TITAN motor line with two new weather-protected vertical frame sizes and a new enclosed fan-cooled 2-pole horizontal motor extension. The models are designed to serve applications in water and wastewater, petroleum, chemical and electric power industries.
The Weather Protected I and II 6810 and 6811 frame vertical motors are available in HOLLOSHAFT and solid shaft configurations. They maintain the high thrust capability of legacy TITAN I 6800 frame vertical motors while introducing a dedicated normal-thrust design with grease-lubricated ball bearings.
The company also introduced a TEFC 6800/7000/450 frame 2-pole horizontal motor, offered with antifriction ball bearing or RENK sleeve bearing options.
The new 6800 vertical motor frames are constructed from cast iron rather than fabricated steel, allowing Nidec to perform winding and frame assembly processes simultaneously — reducing production time and enabling faster delivery. The TITAN II 6800 frame also features a size 3.5 cast iron main conduit box with 6,440 cubic inches of volume and optional internal shaft ground ring or brush mounting.
In addition, the updated TITAN 6800/7000/450 frame horizontal motors increase maximum 2-pole horsepower from 800 horsepower to 1,100 horsepower. The line includes multiple frame lengths and shaft heights, and each frame size is tri-drilled for compatibility with existing installations.
The new TITAN products are manufactured and assembled at Nidec’s facility in Mena, Arkansas. More information is available at usmotors.com.
