The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance is now accepting nominations for its Greg Garrett Scholarship Award, which grants a PHTA member in the builder or service sector $5,000 for PHTA educational or certification fees.
The scholarship, which is offered annually, encourages professionalism and provides an opportunity for continuing education in the pool and hot tub industry. According to PHTA, the award recognizes an individual employed in the recreational water industry who shows extraordinary desire in furthering their career through education.
The scholarship is awarded by the PHTA Recreational Water Quality Committee, and is named in honor of Greg Garrett, a former PHTA member who dedicated 45 years to the industry and served in many leadership roles in the PHTA RWQC, Builders Council and standard writing committees. Fittingly, he was a vocal advocate for education and standards.
A PHTA member can either nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else. The submission deadline for nominations is Sept.16. To learn more about how to make a submission, click this link.
