PHTA Supports Bipartisan Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Reauthorization Act
The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance announced its support of the bipartisan Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Reauthorization Act, which was reintroduced in the U.S. House of Representatives July 23 by Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.; John Carter, R-Texas; and Donald Norcross, D-N.J. The act requires every public pool in the U.S. to install safe drain covers that prevent suction entrapment; initiates a grant program for states, municipalities and tribes to support water safety education and enforce pool and spa safety laws; and launches Pool Safely, a national drowning prevention public education campaign.
PHTA members and industry advocates are encouraged to contact their congressional representatives and voice support for HR 4751.
