SwamCam Adds Wireless Door and Window Pool Alarm Sensors

SwamCam has introduced battery-powered Door and Window Pool Alarm Sensors that monitor access points leading to a pool area and send alerts through its mobile app. The company says the sensors are ETL Listed to UL 2017.

The wireless sensors can be used on doors, windows, gates and other pool-access openings without electrical wiring at the opening. They trigger an alarm when a protected opening is used without activating the bypass function.

Users can pair the sensors with either a SwamCam Camera System or a SwamCam Sensor Hub. With the camera system, alerts sound through a connected indoor alarm, the outdoor camera and the user’s smartphone. With the hub, alerts sound through the hub and smartphone; a camera is not required.

The app displays whether each sensor is open or closed, maintains a history of openings and alarms, and shows battery status and low-battery warnings. Users can manage multiple sensors and receive alerts when the app is not actively open, according to the company.

SwamCam says the sensors are intended as an additional layer of pool protection and do not replace adult supervision, physical barriers, locks or other required safety measures. Approval of an installation remains subject to local requirements and the authority having jurisdiction.
