Eeziblue provides a smarter, simpler approach to algae control

The initial spark for Eeziblue came in 2003 due to a unique challenge: frequent power outages in Zimbabwe made traditional pool care — which relies on consistent pump and filtration operation — unreliable.

“The original formulators, Dave Moore and Glen Fowler, aimed to solve the problem of keeping pools algae-free even during extended power outages,” says Samantha Tiegs, e-commerce and marketing specialist at Eeziblue.

That vision led to Eeziblue — a once-a-month pool treatment that prevents and treats algae, simplifies maintenance and reduces chlorine use.

Eeziblue is a proprietary blend of mineral-based compounds — including copper sulfate, silver nitrate and other ingredients — that work together to eliminate and prevent algae growth. Its long-lasting formula remains active in the water for up to four weeks. By targeting the cellular structure of algae, Eeziblue inhibits its ability to reproduce and spread, keeping pool water clean and clear with minimal intervention. It’s designed to work with existing chlorine systems but reduces the amount of chlorine needed for effective sanitation.

“We’re talking up to 75% less [chlorine] in some cases,” Tiegs says. “Many products on the market focus on one specific issue, requiring a cocktail of chemicals. But we’re not just another algaecide. Eeziblue acts like a multitool; you often don’t need separate phosphate removers, clarifiers or other specialized algaecides.”

Aligning with its origin story, Eeziblue is designed to work effectively even without constant pump operation — a feature not every product can claim.

Despite the competitive pool chemical market, Tiegs believes Eeziblue carves out a unique space.

“We’re seeing significant traction, particularly now with rising chlorine costs, as pool owners and professionals are actively seeking more economical and efficient alternatives,” she says. “Our product’s ease of use and consistent results are also major factors in gaining market share.”

Tiegs says the product has earned high praise from both homeowners and service pros.

“Homeowners consistently tell us how much simpler their pool care routine has become and how much money they’re saving on chlorine,” she says. “They also love the softer, gentler feel of the water with reduced chlorine levels — it’s a big win for families.”

On the professional side, service pros appreciate the convenience of carrying one product that addresses multiple needs because it streamlines inventory, saves time on routes and leads to happier customers.

“We’ve had incredible ‘green-to-clean’ transformations shared with us, which showcase how effective Eeziblue is, even in tough situations,” Tiegs says.

Eeziblue is compatible with all chlorine types, including saltwater systems. It also works alongside UV, ozone and AOP systems, though it should not be used with bromine, biguanide sanitizers or other copper-based chemicals.

To support industry education, Eeziblue partnered with Lauren Broom of Space Coast Pool School. Her CPO classes help professionals understand how and when to use the product effectively.

“We also encourage service pros to reach out to us directly,” Tiegs says. “We’re always available for a call to provide personalized support.”

\One of those professionals is Sean Nankani, CEO of CK Pools in Houston. His team maintains hundreds of pools and often contends with weather shifts, pollen and heat. After switching to Eeziblue last year, his algae-related service calls dropped from 25-30 per day to just two or three.

“It has worked wonders,” Nankani says.

Eeziblue encourages homeowners and pros to give it a try — backed by a 100% satisfaction or full-refund guarantee.

“Whether you’re a homeowner tired of juggling multiple chemicals or a pool pro looking for a more efficient solution, Eeziblue offers a smart and effective way to maintain crystal-clear water,” Tiegs says.

Looking ahead, the company plans to continue refining its formula and developing new innovations to meet the needs of pool owners and service pros.

“Stay tuned for future updates,” Tiegs says.
