Kayden Manufacturing Introduces Drone-based Pool Measuring System
Kayden Manufacturing Inc. has introduced a drone-based measuring system designed to help dealers collect pool dimensions for replacement liners and safety covers in less time.
The company says the technology, called Kaydrone, allows dealers to capture data needed to create a 3D model of a pool in about five to 10 minutes using a drone equipped with a gimbal-mounted camera. Kayden engineers then use the imagery to generate measurements for liner or cover fabrication.
The system is intended to reduce the time traditionally required for manual measuring, particularly for pools with complex features such as steps, benches and sun ledges. The process can be used for both liner and safety cover projects, including cover replacements that require alignment with existing anchors.
According to Kayden, most data collection can be completed when pools are empty, though additional steps can be taken when pools are full of water.
Kayden dealers can participate by investing in a compatible drone, estimated at about $1,000, while use of the service is otherwise provided at no cost. The company also plans to offer live and virtual training for participating dealers.
