Pinch A Penny Opens Two New Stores in Texas

Pinch A Penny, founded in 1975 and one of the nation’s largest swimming pool retail, service and repair franchises, has opened new stores in Flower Mound and Pearland, Texas.

The Flower Mound shop is owned by Highland Village residents Corey and Brandy Current, who have been offering pool service since April of 2022.

Corey Current was born in Mexia, Texas, and has lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the last 25 years. Before coming to Pinch A Penny, he served as a general contractor in residential and commercial properties. Brandy Current graduated from The Colony High School in the nearby town of The Colony, Texas. She has worked at a local law firm for the past 17 years and will handle most of the store’s bookkeeping.

“We have received a tremendous response from customers in the area,” Corey Current says. “There isn’t another store in Flower Mound that offers the service and supplies that Pinch A Penny provides. There is a major demand for pool products and maintenance, and we look forward to providing them with excellent care and service.”

The new Pearland store is owned by Frank Aguilar and his nephew Larry Aguilar, along with their business partner, Jayson Matos. The franchise has been offering pool service to local customers since September of 2022, and the storefront location will allow customers to shop for all their pool care and maintenance needs.

Frank Aguilar and Jayson Matos graduated high school together and have known each other for more than 25 years. The two considered opening a pool service repair store and decided to go into franchising after speaking to an owner who talked about his success with owning a Pinch A Penny store.

Matos has served as general manager of several Target stores in the greater Houston area for the past 12 years. Frank Aguilar started a lawn and landscaping company in Tomball out of high school and has owned the business for 25 years while Larry Aguilar has worked for his uncle for the past seven years.

“Jayson, Larry and I have known each other for many years, and we are very excited to go into business together,” says Frank Aguilar. “Pinch A Penny will serve a great need for homeowners in the Pearland community with superior service on their pools and an extensive selection of supplies and equipment.”

In addition to pool supply retail, Pinch A Penny offers pool service and maintenance, water testing, equipment repair services, pool resurfacing and more.
