SplashLens Launches Free Field Reference App for Pool Service Technicians
SplashLens, a free field reference app for pool service professionals, is now available on the web and iOS app store. Built for technicians, solo operators and service teams working at the equipment pad, SplashLens brings together pool equipment error-code lookup, service calculators, notes, checklists and optional online scan assistance in one lightweight reference tool.
SplashLens was created by Joshua Frost, who started in the pool industry in sales before moving into his own pool service company. The app grew out of day-to-day service friction: finding the right equipment family, checking an error code, documenting a stop or narrowing down a possible part path while still needing to verify against manuals and professional field judgment.
“I used and liked pieces of several pool CRMs and field programs, but as a solo operator I kept wanting faster tools for the moments that happen right at the equipment pad,” Frost says. “SplashLens is built around giving techs time back. If it can help someone find the right starting point faster, document cleaner or avoid a wasted callback, that matters.”
Current SplashLens tools include over 180 equipment and error-code reference entries, possible matches, verification notes, chemical dosing calculators, filter and service checklists, service-note workflows and route-style field tools. The app also includes PartSnap, an optional scan-assisted workflow intended to help identify pool parts, labels, boards, switches, cells, valves and other equipment clues before a tech orders or recommends a replacement.
SplashLens is a reference aid, not a diagnosis engine. AI-assisted scan results and possible matches should be verified against model numbers, manuals, calibrated test results, label directions, manufacturer guidance and qualified professional judgment.
Frost says future development may include practical training resources inside the app. SplashLens is open to feedback, testing, partnership and licensing conversations with educators, manufacturers, service companies and other organizations serving pool professionals.
“The goal is not to replace a good tech,” Frost says. “The goal is to help that tech move faster, stay cleaner with notes and spend less time bouncing between tabs, photos, old screenshots and memory.”
