If you ran into Janey Chakalis on the street, you might be surprised to learn the woman sporting a diamond swimming pool-shaped ring doesn’t spend her time lounging by one. “I do a bit of everything, from regular cleaning to installing full automation, heaters, acid washes, tile cleaning etc.,” Chakalis says, “basically everything but remodeling or building. I love having my own schedule and being able to work outside and not behind a desk.”
Chakalis owns J&J Flawless Pools with her husband, John (whom you may recognize from The Pool Nation Podcast and Awards). The couple has big aspirations in the pool industry to build and service pools in the future, and also own a retail shop.
Chakalis shares her husband’s passion for the industry and improving it. “I would like to elevate the industry to be looked at more like the A/C companies, electricians and plumbers,” she says. “We do all of those things and more, and get treated less professionally.”
