For Mikayla Rodgers, the pool industry is about connections. In 2014, she started helping her now-husband with his father’s pool route at Triton Pools & Spas. What began as a fun way to spend time together grew into a full-fledged career. By 2016, Rodgers and her husband were running the route full time, caring for more than 85 pools each week while she pursued her degree in chemistry. “I loved connecting with customers along our route and building bonds as strong as blood,” she says. “And I loved learning how to use the chemicals and [finding] success taking care of pools.”
Her years in the field — including a brief stint at Aquaman Pools in Scottsdale — taught her the value of consistency, communication and service excellence. By the time she joined Pool Brain in 2025, she had nearly a decade of experience. Today, as a social media strategist, Rodgers combines her industry knowledge with a passion for digital marketing.
Rodgers’ perseverance carried her through long days cleaning pools in the Phoenix heat and long nights studying chemistry. She earned her associate degree while managing routes and later pursued additional education in digital marketing, which ultimately led to her dream role at Pool Brain. “It wasn’t easy, but I stayed committed to my goals,” she says. Along the way, she overcame being underestimated early on, proving herself through loyal customers, clean pools and trusted expertise.
Rodgers hopes to inspire others — especially women — to see the value of their work in an industry where service roles are sometimes overlooked. She envisions herself as a voice of encouragement and inclusivity, helping others feel seen and empowered. “Whether it’s through social media, or by simply sharing my story, I want to help create a more supportive, inclusive and empowering space where everyone has the confidence to thrive,” she says.
Rodgers channels her love of connection into gaming and streaming on Twitch, where she’s built a community of nearly 2,000 followers and a Discord group of 400 members. She also enjoys exploring outdoors — whether biking, frisbee golf or pickleball. For Rodgers, it all comes back to the same theme: creating relationships and uplifting the people around her.
