Elizabeth Pecora, 32
Warranty and service customer service representative
Round Rock, Texas
For Elizabeth Pecora, a lifelong passion for swimming and water safety has shaped her career path. She spent six years teaching swim lessons — four as a manager at Love Swimming Swim School in New Orleans and two more as a private instructor. When she was unable to teach during the pandemic, she moved to Austin in search of a job that could bring the same sense of purpose. She found her home at Cody Pools, where she has worked in the warranty and service department for nearly five years. “If I couldn’t work in pools by teaching, I realized I could work in the pool industry and find just as much joy — if not more,” Pecora says.
Pecora says her favorite part of the job is the relationships she’s built — both inside and outside of the company. “I’ve connected with co-workers across Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Tampa and Orlando, and also with vendors and manufacturer reps who have helped me become the confident customer service professional I am today,” she says. Pecora also credits owners Mike and Kelley Church for creating a supportive, familylike culture that values employees.
She feels most fulfilled when she hears that she’s someone’s “go-to.” Whether it’s a customer, project manager, technician or manufacturer rep, being trusted to find answers and get the job done means everything to her. She thrives on digging into problems, finding solutions and knowing her efforts ultimately lead to satisfied customers.
Pecora is excited to keep growing within Cody Pools and is also open to future opportunities with major pool manufacturers. She loves working with reps in sales, service, purchasing and warehouse roles, and sees herself continuing to build her expertise in those areas. She also hopes to see — and be part of — a future where more women step into leadership roles in the pool industry. “The women who have left the most lasting impression on me have been in sales and design,” she says. “I can see myself as one of those women leaving my mark.”
Outside of work, Pecora’s love for swimming continues. A former lifeguard, varsity swimmer and water polo player, she still spends as much time in the water as she can. She also enjoys yoga, playing intramural softball, trying new restaurants, cooking and staying active in ways that keep her competitive spirit alive.
