When Kelly Michael Skelton started in the industry, he didn’t know if he’d be staying for long, but he says opportunities have continually opened up and he’s enjoyed it. Skelton started at South Shore Gunite Pools as an admin assistant and eventually started the company’s marketing department.
He says hard work and being in the right place at the right time brought him to where he is now. He worked full time at SSG while earning his undergraduate and graduate degrees, and upon finishing, identified a need for marketing, “and the rest is history, as they say,” Skelton says.
The company has seen a 400% growth across its social medial channels and a 900% increase in its customer reviews in the three years Skelton has manned the marketing department.
Update: In 2022, Skelton and his associate launched Backyard Assist, a homeowner directed website. He serves as co-founder and head of content.
