Marcia Gyles, 40
In 2012, faced with the closure of her previous workplace, Marcia Gyles embarked on an expedition from Indiana to Montana with her two young children, seeking a fresh start. While substitute teaching and searching for jobs, she encountered Aqua Creek Products.
“I found a welcoming team and resonated with their mission of providing access to aquatics for people of all abilities,” says Gyles, who previously worked in healthcare as a program coordinator for people with developmental disabilities. “After a decade, the small family business has evolved and become a part of my extended family.”
Gyles loves that her position at Aqua Creek and the pool industry allows her to be part of improving people’s quality of life.
“The pool industry is driven by people’s desire to create havens of relaxation and connection,” she says. “Pool professionals take pride in creating and maintaining beautiful pools that enhance the quality of life for so many people, and I love being a small part of that.”
As she looks to the future, Gyles wants to emphasize safety and education, aiming for comprehensive training to ensure the well-being of pool users and professionals. She seeks to push the boundaries of pool lift design, creating visually stunning and seamlessly integrated lifts.
Collaboration within the industry is another key goal. She envisions greater cooperation among pool professionals, suppliers and industry organizations to share knowledge and best practices, raising industry standards.
Moreover, Gyles is passionate about promoting the wellness and therapeutic benefits of water. She advocates for recognizing the physical and mental health advantages of swimming and water-based activities, positioning pools as spaces for relaxation, exercise and rehabilitation.
