Through a hurricane and a pandemic, Miguel Cabello has grown a thriving business through hard work and perseverance.
In 2007, he started working for Aquarius Pool Solutions.
“I gained valuable hands-on experience in pool maintenance, repair and renovation,” he says. “Working at Aquarius Pool Solutions provided me with a solid foundation and comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in enhancing pool systems.”
In 2010, he decided to open his own business, Imperial Pool Services, and even though residents’ buying power in Puerto Rico during this time was down, Cabello believed in his passion.
“I continued to build my business,” he says. “After Hurricane Maria, a lot of pools needed to be repaired, and then years later during COVID-19, a lot of people started buying and building pools. It was a good time for the pool industry, and the business grew steadily.”
Cabello hopes to be a mentor and facilitator for others in the industry and is excited by the possibility of continued growth.
“It’s a very diverse industry and this is why I enjoy all aspects of my work,” he says. “It is a strong industry. People are not going to stop getting houses and pools.”
If he could change one thing, Cabello says he would make it easier for beginners to gain experience and knowledge.
“This is why I enjoy being the host of a podcast called Pisciniando Podcast,” he says. “I would like to be remembered as a human being who achieves a lot of goals but never loses his values and always remembers where he came from. Having this type of platform where others can share their stories makes the whole pool industry more solid.”
