Darren Post

28 | President | The Pool Store Incorporated

In the pool industry, it’s well-known that a clear pool doesn’t always mean a clean pool. But customers often don’t know the difference. “One thing I’d like to change about the pool industry is how consumers are educated on what it means for a pool to be good,” says Darren Post, president of The Pool Store Incorporated. “In my experience, most homeowners believe that if the pool is clear, is it safe to swim.”

Despite that frustration, Darren says the pool industry doesn’t feel like work to him. “There are very few blue-collar industries where clients have a smile on their face when paying you for a completed project,” he says. “The pool industry is one of those industries. Providing a service in an industry you love … is a very fulfilling feeling. Working in the swimming pool industry will be my long-term career.”

The Pool Store Incorporated was started by Darren Post’s father, Gary Post. Darren started there as a sales associate and service coordinator, working his way up to becoming president and a partner in the business.

“Year over year growth has increased more than 625% since I began managing the company’s operations,” Post says. He hopes to continue expanding the company’s operations by opening another retail store and adding an online store, all while promoting aquatic therapy and learn-to-swim programs through his budding political career.

In 2019, Darren was elected to the Gloucester County School Board and hopes to one day advocate for the swimming pool industry in a state-level elected position.
