When Dustin Maherg’s friend Ryan Pope was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Pope was no longer able to operate his pool service company, Integrity Pool Solutions, located in Alabama. While Pope was undergoing chemotherapy, Maherg and another friend stepped up to do the work for him. Fortunately, Pope recovered and returned to his business, and Maherg went back to his corporate career. However, what Maherg thought was a temporary stopover in the pool industry became anything but.
As Maherg and Pope continued their careers, they found themselves commiserating about the same issues: disengaged employees, boring cultures, complex organizations, broken promises, and poor customer service. After years of complaining to each other and no sign of improvement, they decided to join forces by expanding Integrity Pool Solutions into also offering building services. Since Pope was a pool guru and Maherg was a construction guru, this made the most sense.
Recently, Maherg relocated to Florida to purchase Nautilus Pools. He hopes to continue to build on the foundation of respect and trust that Nautilus has both with his community and employees.
